How to monitor 3g use on Android

Written by on February 3, 2011 in Uncategorized - No comments

Most mobile networks limit the amount of data you can use for your Android phone but don’t warn you when you are approaching or have reached your limit, then charge you a fortune.

Luckily you have your watchdog! 3G Watchdog allows you to set how much data you are given each month and it will warn you when you get near your limit. The app runs in the background so you can easily find out how much data you have used in the month by pulling down your notifications bar.

The app is free but for £1.92 you receive the following features:

* Advanced data usage prediction
* Billing rules (counts in blocks, ignores uploads)
* Usage history with graph & CSV export
* Usage by application (Android 2.2+, unavailable on Dell Streak)
* 5 widget styles
* Backup/restore
* Redesigned UI
* Account/SIM with auto switch
* Import settings & data from 3GW free (don’t uninstall 3GW free before importing!)

Cost: free or £1.92($3.10)
