Ever get frustrated with not being able to get through a day without your battery running out? You’re not the only one! Follow this guide to get the most out of your battery!
First download the free app, Battery Doctor
Use the app to do the following things:
- Turn off wifi and 3g when you are not using it - It may be tempting to leave wifi or 3g on but if you want your battery to last as long as possible then only turn them on when you need them.
- Turn off bluetooth when you are not using it - Most of us rarely use bluetooth so why have it running in the background using up battery.
- Turn off Auto-sync data - This will stop apps from autosyncing and will save battery life.
- Turn off GPS when you don’t need it - GPS is very power hungry so only have it turned on when it is absolutely necessary.
- Reduce the brightness of your screen - The screen can use 70% of your battery so by reducing the brightness you are likely to save a huge amount of battery.
- Go to the tasks section and kill the tasks - The more tasks and apps running in the background, the more battery that is going to be consumed.
Also, disable live wallpapers and unwanted widgets as these are battery intensive. Follow these tips and squeeze as much battery life out as possible!

The ‘apps running int he background’ falsehood is still around I see.
Don’t pay attention to that point, apps running in the background will use no battery at all, and killing them actually uses up more battery in the long run on an Android phone. The only apps you need to worry about closing are broken ones that keep the phone from sleeping, or ones that suck down the CPU due to a bug.
The only reason killing them all may seem to work for some people is because they have one of those broken/buggy apps doing something it shouldn’t, and as a side effect of killing them all, you kill the bugged one too.
Also, leaving GPS turned on doesn’t use any battery either unless an app is actually using it. So it will use no battery at all until something like Maps starts using it.
